About Etta Harris
Etta Harris was born in Seoul, South Korea to a Korean mother and an African American father. As a child of a military family, Etta learned how to embrace and celebrate various cultures due to her numerous travel opportunities and her diverse background. She has lived in different parts of the world, which has consequently affected her artistic view on life, race, and culture.
Etta’s inspiration is primarily due to her relationship, eternal love, and inspiring freedom that comes from Jesus Christ. Her interpretations of spirituality, love, nature, pain, joy, and love of all people are expressed mainly using acrylic and oil pastels captured in abstract styles.
Etta was trained in Seoul, South Korea and in Houston, Texas and holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management. She currently resides in Houston, Texas with her husband Dedric who shares and supports her passion for art. Etta is blessed with a loving son and two beautiful grandchildren who inspire much of her art.
Her art is currently displayed in private homes and businesses throughout the the world. She is currently working on some commission pieces for various private collectors, charitable organizations, and art shows. Etta has featured some of her art in West Africa as part of a mission project with Born to Fly Organization, a non-profit organization for young artists in third world countries.
